FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: use of an inhibitor of poly(ADP-ribose)-polymerase (PARP) is proposed for producing a drug intended for the treatment of cancer in an individual, wherein cancer is defective along the path of repair of a double-strand break (DSB) of DNA, which depends on homological recombination. Methods for the treatment of cancer in an individual are proposed, including the injection of PARP inhibitor to the specified individual, while the specified cancer is defective along the path of repair of DSB of DNA, which depends on homological recombination.
EFFECT: proposed group of inventions provides for selective induction of lethality of cancer cells that are defective at the repair of DSB of DNA, which depends on homological recombination.
