FIELD: chemical industry.

SUBSTANCE: method for obtaining a catalyst for the alkylation of benzene with ethylene is proposed, including the preparation of a catalyst based on zeolite ZSM-5 without a binder, its drying and calcination, where powdered zeolite ZSM-5 is mixed 21-40 wt. %, kaolin 6-15 wt. %, ground silica gel 50-63 wt. % and oligomeric esters of orthosilicic acid 2-8 wt .%, moisten the resulting mixture with water, form granules, which are then dried, calcined in an air atmosphere at 550-700 °C for 2-6 hours, hydrothermal crystallization is carried out in a reaction mixture of molar composition (2.8-4.2)Na2O⋅(0.7-2.4)R⋅Al2O3⋅(60-90)SiO2⋅(400-1100)H2O at 110-120 °C for 48-72 hours, washed with water, treated three times with aqueous solutions of ammonium salts with a concentration of NH4+ 50-80 g/dm3 at 70-90 °C for 2-3 hours to the degree of substitution of Na+ cations in the zeolite of no less than 97%, washed with water, dried and calcined. A method for alkylation of benzene with ethylene to produce ethylbenzene is also proposed, including the interaction of benzene with ethylene in the gas phase on a zeolite-containing catalyst, where the catalyst obtained by the method described above is used.

EFFECT: high content of ethylbenzene in alkylate and simplification of the method for obtaining a catalyst for alkylation of benzene with ethylene.
