FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy; it can be used in the manufacture of ceramic inserts and preparation for the operation of air tuyeres of blast furnaces. The air tuyere of the blast furnace contains external and internal cups welded at the edges with a snout part and a flange to form a blast channel, a branch pipe for supplying natural gas and a ceramic insert with a thickness of at least 8 mm, deepened in the snout part of the blast channel, installed with an air gap relatively to the surface of the blast channel. The insert has a variable thickness along the length, gradually decreasing in the direction of the blast, the end of the insert from the side of its input section is beveled in accordance with the angle of inclination of the tuyere relatively to the flange. A side hole is made in the insert, beveled in accordance with the angle of natural gas supply.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the durability of the ceramic insert.
