FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to etching of sheet steel. The method includes etching of sheet steel 8 with constant submersion thereof in an etching bath 1 containing an etching solution 10. Said bath is therein connected with a purification unit containing a recirculation tank 3 and circulation means 12 and 13, a constant incoming stream 11 of said solution is supplied to an ultrafiltration apparatus 2 from the recirculation tank 3, and two streams exit the ultrafiltration apparatus - one filtered stream 21 supplied back to said recirculation tank 3, and one unfiltered stream 22.
EFFECT: invention ensures protection of the recirculation circuit from clogging during etching, as well as reduction in the rate of polymerisation kinetics of colloidal silicon.
