SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of managing the information provision to users of communication devices. A device can track the user’s activity in the environment and identify information that is associated with the user’s activity in the environment. The device can identify, in the user’s activity, the possibility of issuing notifications in order to notify the user about information without interrupting the user’s activity; and during the possibility of issuing notifications, the device can present to the user, through the output for issuing notifications, a notification about information. By selecting the time synchronization of the notification presentation according to the possibility of issuing notifications that does not interrupt the user’s activity, and selecting information that is associated with such activity in the user’s environment, the device can provide relatively hassle-free, contextually appropriate and non-interrupting notifications.

EFFECT: achievement of less intrusive and more contextually appropriate interaction that allows one to reduce false positive judgments, false negative judgments and/or an excessively rough degree of detail in the selectivity of notifications.
