FIELD: material properties determination
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of determining the yield strength in bending without destruction of the material of parts operating under conditions of loading by a bending moment. The surface of the test material is loaded by means of an indenter with a load, the value of which corresponds to the range of hardness measurement, the parameters of the indent are measured and the yield strength of the test material is calculated. At least six successive loads of the test material are carried out at one fixed point on the surface of the part, at least half of which are performed outside the depths of 8-10% of the indenter diameter. The depths of the resulting residual imprints are measured after each loading. A graph of the dependence of the depth of the residual indentation on the load is built, according to which the maximum load is determined, preceding the beginning of the deviation of the graph from the linear dependence. The yield strength of the material of the part in bending is calculated according to the dependence taking into account the maximum load preceding the beginning of the deviation of the graph of the dependence of the depth of the residual indentation on the load from the linear dependence, the depth of the residual indentation corresponding to the maximum load, the diameter of the spherical indenter and the coefficients of plasticity in bending, depending on the chemical composition of the tested material.
EFFECT: simplification of the method for determining the yield strength of the material of a cylindrical part during bending and increasing its accuracy.
