FIELD: ventilation units.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ventilation units, in particular to self-locking ventilation units, it can be used to provide passive fire protection of cable facilities and other building structures, including that at nuclear and thermal power plants. The self-locking ventilation unit is a ventilation channel with lattices on each side of the channel, the space between which is at least partially filled with an element that increases in volume during heat exposure, containing a hole for airflows to pass through it. An element that increases in volume, as well as a fire-resistant box, are also described.
EFFECT: technical problem solved in the implementation of the claimed invention is the creation of a device that ensures the retention of the material increasing in volume mainly within the ventilation unit, allowing for guaranteed sealing of the ventilation channel during the entire standard time of fire exposure, thereby protecting the cables laid in a fire-resistant cable box from the negative effects of an external fire, while providing more effective fire protection and at the same time ensuring the required efficiency of heat removal from the fire-resistant cable box during normal operation.
