FIELD: physical chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing Ac-225 from Ra-226. Ra-226 is present as a liquid solution in the receiver, and the said Ra-226 is subjected to a photonuclear process in which Ra-226 (γ, n) is irradiated to produce Ra-225. Further, Ra-225 decays to Ac-225, and the resulting Ac-225 is collected by its electrochemical deposition on the cathode present in the said receiver. Moreover, the cathode is removed from the receiver after the said deposition has occurred, and it is transferred to the environment of the chamber for radioactive substances, where Ac-225 is removed from the cathode.

EFFECT: possibility of eliminating the retreatment of Ra-226 after its chemical separation from Ac-225 when obtaining Ac-225 from Ra-226.
