FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, namely to a highly dynamic electromagnetic drive. The highly dynamic electromagnetic drive in the form of a Thomson coil with a magnetically soft frame includes first excitation coil (30), the winding height of which is greater than its length, and which is thus flat. It also includes magnetically soft frame (10), in which first excitation coil (30) is located, and on which it rests. The magnetically soft frame, like a pot-type electromagnet, is an open magnetic circuit that has outer area (11), bottom (12) and inner area (13), and that is open from the end. The first excitation coil at least partially surrounds inner part (13) of the frame. Short-circuited slider (40) is made on its side facing first excitation coil (30), preferably in the form of a hollow cylinder, and it enters the end hole of frame (10) and at least partially surrounds inner part (13) of the frame. Frame (10) is formed from magnetically soft composite material or one or several core packages having saturation flux density of at least 1.5 T, as well as effective specific electrical conductivity of a maximum of 10^6 Cm/m, as well as effective specific electrical conductivity of a maximum of 10^6 Cm/m. First excitation coil (30) and/or frame (10) have at least one means for unloading tensile stresses, in particular in the form of protective casing, in order to partially absorb radial forces arising during a launching process perpendicular to the direction of movement on first excitation coil (30).
