FIELD: transmissions.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a continuously variable transmission. The transmission includes housing, input and output shafts, base variator, differential. The basic variator consists of a drive clutch, a driven clutch and an intermediate element. The differential includes center wheels, satellites and a carrier. The clutches of the base variator are tapered and mounted on the input shaft in series, with the driving clutch rigidly fixed to the input shaft, and the driven clutch with the possibility of free rotation. An intermediate element is installed between the clutches, consisting of a roller, articulated non-rotary rod, a rotary rod and a pressure mechanism located on the rotary rod. The differential is made conical, and one of its central wheel is connected to the driven clutch, the other central wheel is connected to the input shaft, and the carrier is connected to the output shaft. The base variator contains at least three identical intermediate elements.
EFFECT: simplified design, increased efficiency, reliability and compactness of the device.
