FIELD: vehicle transmission.

SUBSTANCE: screw variator of a wide-range transmission includes gear elements designed as cylindrical worms, an input drive shaft and an intermediate shaft perpendicular to it, a bevel gear with hypoid gears and an external control mechanism. The worms are of the same diameter and mounted on the shafts with the option of longitudinal sliding along them without relative turning. The bevel gear is monolithic with an intermediate shaft, and the gear is rigidly fixed to the differential housing, which is an indispensable element of a wide-range transmission. The differential includes a carrier, a center wheel connected to the input drive shaft through a spline connection, and a center wheel connected in the same way to the output shaft of the transmission.

EFFECT: reduced dimensions, simplified manufacturing and increased reliability.
