FIELD: acoustic equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method for measuring the condition of a set of spatially spaced machine parts subject to wear and emitting acoustic signatures includes following steps: (a) optical detection of acoustic properties of the set of machine parts subject to wear and obtaining detected signals from them; (b) division of detected signals into the first sequence of corresponding spatial segments along spatially spaced machine parts and, for each spatial segment, division of the detected signal into a time segment with recording acoustic properties of the spatial segment over an extended time period; (c) division of each time segment into a sequence of subsegments and conversion of subsegments in a frequency domain into corresponding frequency subsegments; (d) combination of frequency subsegments within the spatial segment to obtain a corresponding combined frequency subsegment with a reduced noise level; and (e) determination of the fundamental frequency of emitted acoustic signatures present in the combined frequency subsegment and its harmonics.

EFFECT: improved control of equipment operation, including machine parts subject to wear, is provided.
