FIELD: measuring technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measuring technology and concerns a method for calibration/verification of a laser radiation power measuring instrument. When implementing the method, the initial laser beam is divided into passing and reflected beams using an optical divider and the output signals of the measuring instrument installed on the path of the passing beam are obtained. A reference converter with a power attenuator made in the form of a rotating disk with a pass-through window is installed on the path of the reflected beam. The attenuation coefficient of the attenuator is determined with a reference radiation source, using the output signals of the reference converter when the power attenuator motor is switched off and when the power attenuator motor is switched on. The initial laser beam is fed to the measuring instrument, the power of the radiation reflected from the optical divider is measured using a calibrated reference converter and the radiation power at the input of the measuring instrument is determined by multiplying the power of the reflected beam by the attenuation and division coefficients.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of laser radiation power measurements while expanding the power measurement range and, consequently, an increase in the accuracy of calibration/verification.
