FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of optical measurements, namely to high-precision photometric units for calibration / verification of means of measuring laser beam divergence angle. Disclosed device for calibration / verification of means of measuring laser beam divergence comprises a laser radiation source, a dividing plate and a main measuring means movable on a single base, as well as a control measuring device located on the laser beam reflected from the beam splitting beam line. Apparatus further comprises a laser beam divergence angle variation mechanism, which is in form of a tunable laser beam expander which forms fixed divergence angles. Method of calibrating means of measuring the divergence angle of a laser beam using said apparatus involves setting a certain fixed value of the divergence angle of the laser beam belonging to the measured range, measurement of energy density distribution (EDD) of the laser beam using the main and reference measurement means, calculation along the x, y axes of the respective divergence angles, beam widths and calibration coefficients, installation of calibrated working measuring device (WMD) instead of the main one, measurement of beam divergence angles with the help of WMD and determination of calibration coefficients of WMD.

EFFECT: technical result is high accuracy of measurements carried out during calibration / verification of WMD.
