FIELD: electroplating.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electroplating and can be used to protect products made of magnesium and its alloys from corrosion in mechanical engineering, aircraft construction, textile and printing industries. The invention can be used both as an independent coating and as a sublayer for paint and varnish and other coatings. The coating was obtained by the method for microarc oxidation (MAO) with a total thickness of no more than 15 mcm, while the through pores of the MAO coating are compactly filled with a cobalt-phosphorus alloy using chemical-catalytic deposition. The method includes MAO of the surface of magnesium or its alloy with obtaining a thin oxide coating with a thickness of not more than 10 mcm and filling the through pores of the MAO coating with a cobalt-phosphorus alloy using chemical-catalytic deposition.
EFFECT: increasing the corrosion resistance of items made of magnesium and its alloys with a decrease in the time of application of MAO coating, as well as saving non-ferrous metals due to the replacement of the nickel-containing part of the coating with MAO coating.
