FIELD: navigation systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of navigation systems and can be used for local positioning of ground objects with a relatively constant height of the antenna in the horizontal plane (in plan), subject to possible interference in limited areas and in enclosed spaces, where determining the coordinates of objects using the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) is difficult or inexpedient. In the machine-oriented method for local positioning of ground objects based on rangefinder calculations, using the repeated use of the circular POCS algorithm, the zone of possible location of the object is determined from a surface that obviously contains the object's location zone, on the basis of which, averaging the coordinates of the extreme points of the zone, the coordinates of the object are determined and possible deviations are calculated.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of horizontal positioning, determination of the zone of possible location of the object and the value of its maximum deviation.
