FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to a method and device for processing metal-containing raw materials, in particular to the extraction of metals from metal-containing raw materials of ores and technogenic fine-dispersed waste. Direct extraction of metal from oxide forms of metal-containing raw materials of ores and man-made waste is carried out in the working melting space of the tank of a DC electric arc furnace. At the same time, continuous oscillations of electric and electromagnetic fields are created, passing through the entire volume of metal-containing raw materials by a nonequilibrium power temperature field with a DC arc with a rectified operating voltage from 20 to 130 V and a length from 0.5 to 10 mm, and a current from 1.0 to 100 kA is maintained with reduced blinking. The DC power supply for the device is made with a minimum reactance value in a set consisting of two interlocked converter transformers with an equalizing reactor, an input current-limiting reactor and two DC rectifiers.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to extract metals from metal-containing raw materials as fully as possible, with the highest speed and high degree of extraction, ensuring high efficiency of utilization of man-made waste.
