FIELD: inorganic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing ozone in an ozone generation unit. The unit comprises at least two electrodes (E1, E2) separated by an ozonation gap (OG) and a layer of a dielectric and placed in an ozone generator (OzG). Source gas containing dioxygen is supplied to the input (O2IN) of the ozone generator (OzG) with predetermined flow rate of the source gas and pressure of the source gas. An alternating electric current is conveyed to at least two electrodes (E1, E2) of the ozone generator (OzG) to create electrical discharges in the ozonation gap (OG) in order to generate a predetermined amount of ozone at the gas outlet (O3OUT) of the ozone generator (OzG). The power of the electric current and at least one from a number of parameters of the production process, including the flow rate of the source gas, the frequency of the electric current, the voltage of the electric current, the cooling temperature of the ozone generator (OzG), are adjusted to adjust the amount of the ozone generated at the gas outlet (O3OUT) of the ozone generator (OzG). The electrical power and said at least one parameter from said number of parameters of the process, including the flow rate of the source gas, the frequency of the electric current, the voltage of the electric current, and the cooling temperature, are monitored in the process of production of ozone. The pressure of the source gas is then adjusted in response to said adjustment of the power of the electric current and said at least one parameter of the process.
EFFECT: maintaining high efficiency of the ozone generation process with a varying amount of the generated ozone.
