SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. For phacoemulsification of cataract with corneal opacities through the flat part of the ciliary body at a distance of 3.0 mm from the limbus, a cannula-port with a caliber of 25 G - 29 G is inserted perpendicular to the sclera towards the geometric center of the vitreous cavity of the eye. A short light guide of the "Chandelier" type with a rounded tip in the form of a "torpedo" is installed in the cannula-port. The brightness of the light guide is set to maximum, and the light of the operating microscope is turned off. Phacoemulsification stage and removal of cortical masses is carried out using endoillumination from a light guide. After removing the viscoelastic using an irrigation-aspiration system, the light guide is turned off and removed from the eye. Sealing of incisions and suturing is carried out under coaxial illumination of an operating microscope.
EFFECT: method prevents damage to the structures of the anterior chamber of the eyeball when performing phacoemulsification of a cataract with corneal opacities of varying severity, is available and easy to perform.
