SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to agriculture, namely to a method for the operation of a combine harvester and a combine harvester containing several working bodies and a driver assistance system. Driver assistance system (10) contains memory (11) for storing data and computing device (12) for processing data stored in memory (11), according to which, by means of driver assistance system (10), characteristics of harvested crop and equipment configuration are determined, wherein characteristics of harvested crop include a crop type, and equipment configuration contains equipment with mechanical elements and/or control elements of at least one working body (2-6). By means of driver assistance system (10), based on characteristics of harvested crop and equipment configuration, process control strategy (P) is preliminary selected from several process control strategies (P) stored in memory (11) of driver assistance system (10), wherein each strategy is aimed at implantation of at least one quality criterion (Q). Driver assistance system (10), based on preliminary selected process control strategy (P), automatically determines at least one equipment parameter of working bodies (2-6) and sets it for corresponding working body (2-6). Preliminary selection of process control strategy (P), by means of driver assistance system (10), is carried out by survey of conditions stored in memory (11), wherein to do this, in memory (11), at least one condition related to characteristics of harvested crop and at least one condition related to equipment configuration correspond to at least one process control strategy (P), wherein preliminary selection of process control strategy (P) is carried out only when all conditions corresponding to it are fulfilled.
