SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to technological processes for the beneficiation of minerals, in particular to the technology of separation of bulk materials using centrifugal forces, and can find application, in particular, in the mining, construction, metallurgical industries. The method for separating bulk material by density consists in separating bulk material and removing dense and light particles. The original bulk material is fed into a centrifuge, the drum rotation axis of which is located horizontally or obliquely to the horizontal, the inner surface of the drum is made of elastic material, the drum is rotated at a speed determined by a mathematical expression. The removal of dense particles is carried out in the upper part of the drum with the help of a first stripper, located along its generatrix surface and with a gap in relation to it, made in the form of a trough with high and low walls. The first stripper is installed so that, first, along the rotation of the drum, a low wall is located, followed by a high wall, and the chute itself is located closer to the axis of the drum from its inner surface. The removal of light particles is carried out in a stripper located farther from the first stripper in the direction of rotation of the drum. A frustum-conical drum centrifuge is used.
