FIELD: firefighting.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of firefighting and pertains to management of accidents arising from spills of flammable liquids accompanied by a fire leading to destruction of capital structures. The method for spraying roofing trusses of a power house is characterised by supplying water jets from firefighting robots located around the perimeter of the power house. The scanning water jets are directed to sections of the surfaces of load-bearing structures located in the area of the buoyant plume formed by the heat flow, determined by the unit for heated zone recognition based on the information from IR sensors installed on the firefighting robots, the nominal flow rate whereof should be no less than 20 l/s. The total flow rate therein can be adjusted by introducing time intervals with supply termination, but should amount to no less than 10 l/s, and the average spraying intensity should be no less than 0.06 l/s*m2. In a section of the load-bearing structures with an elevated temperature T >100° determined on actuation of the thermal cable, the spraying intensity is increased by continuous operation of the robotic firefighting unit at full flow. In a section of the load-bearing structures with a critical temperature T>300° determined by the heated zone recognition unit, the control apparatus issues a signal to the day-and-night duty operator on the necessity of introducing additional means for eliminating the threat of destruction in the emergency section.
