SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gas storage. Boss (116) includes neck (122) and flange (124) that passes radially outward from neck (122). Neck (122) includes through hole (126) with longitudinal axis (152). Flange (124) includes outer surface (138), inner surface (137) and peripheral surface (128), the most remote from longitudinal axis (152). Peripheral surface (128) connects inner surface (137) and outer surface (38) and includes, along any radius of boss (116), first peripheral comb (158') and second peripheral comb (158''), wherein first peripheral comb (158') is located closer to outer surface (138) than second peripheral comb (158''). In another aspect, pressure vessel (10) includes boss (116) and liner (120). In one more aspect, a method for assembling pressure vessel (10) is described, including stages, at which boss (116) is inserted through hole (144) of liner (120), and boss (116) and liner (120) are connected so that peripheral surface (128) of boss (116) is mated with perimeter surface (144) of liner (120).
