SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture, in particular, to the method for seeding and to working bodies of agricultural machines, and can be used in seeding of grain crops in dry soil in areas with pronounced periods of low spring temperatures or night-time freezing. The method for seeding grain crops includes tillage, ridge seeding on a prepared bed in two rows, and rolling. Rolling is performed, creating a furrow between the rows, wherein the distance from the sown seeds to the wall of the furrow is equal to the depth of seeding, and the depth of the furrow is not greater than the depth of placement of seeds. Seeding is performed using a coulter containing a rack with a point and a duckfoot sweep, a seed duct, sidewalls for row separation of seeds, and a compacting roller. An annular triangular or tetrahedral protrusion is made in the middle of the surface of the roller. The surface of the sidewalls is made of the inverted-V shape with a constant angle of inclination. The annular protrusion of the compacting roller has a height no greater than the depth of placement of seeds and is placed on the same line with the line of the top of the sidewalls.

EFFECT: use of the invention provides a possibility of increasing the quality of grain crop seedlings.
