FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely, to dentistry. For recanalisation of lateral sinuses in thromboses of otogenic etiology in children, surgical intervention is performed on the thrombosed sigmoid sinus, removing the thrombus throughout the entire length thereof until blood flow is obtained from the transverse sinus and the bulb of the internal jugular vein with plasty of the outer wall. Simultaneously and subsequently, antibacterial and anticoagulation medication-based therapy of the thrombosis of the transverse sinus and jugular vein is performed by intravenous injection of unfractionated heparin. Then, on the day 5 to 7, an oral anticoagulant – warfarin – is added to heparin therapy. Heparin is then canceled with further application of warfarin in a hospital setting, followed by controlling recanalisation of the lateral sinus. Administration of warfarin is then continued for up to 3 months in an outpatient setting with obligatory monitoring of the international normalisation ratio indicators once per month.
EFFECT: method increases the effectiveness of restoring the patency of the lateral sinuses in thromboses of otogenic etiology in children and minimises further complications.
