FIELD: medical science.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to clinical laboratory diagnostics, and may be used for the prediction of a risk of a recurrent vascular event accompanying ischemic cardioembolic stroke in the patients taking heparin. Patient’s venous blood is sampled. Ristocetin-induced and collagen-induced thrombocyte aggregation is analysed twice on 2-3 and 7-10 days after ischemic cardioembolic stroke. Total optical densities of ristocetin-induced (P12) and collagen-induced (K12) thrombocyte aggregation are recorded. If P12 is more than 120%, and K12 is more than 110%, a high risk of a recurrent vascular event accompanying ischemic cardioembolic stroke in the patients taking heparin is predicted.
EFFECT: method enables detecting the patients with cardioembolic stroke having a high risk of the preserved prothrombotic state accompanying heparin therapy by assessing the platelet aggregation for ristocetin and collagen.
