FIELD: tribotechnical testing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of tribotechnical testing of materials, in particular to the determination of coefficients of external friction of rest and sliding during mutual movement of samples of toxic materials in vacuum at elevated temperatures. An installation contains a base and a movable sample, while the latter is made with a flat or convex support surface and is mounted on the base sample with the possibility to move along it. The base and movable samples are placed in a sealed vacuum chamber with a built-in observation window, a scale for recording movements of the movable sample and the base sample made in the form of a hemisphere and connected to a heater equipped with a thermocouple are sequentially fixed opposite it, wherein the vacuum chamber is equipped with a cooling circuit.
EFFECT: possibility of testing toxic materials at elevated temperatures, obtaining values of the coefficient of external friction of rest and sliding depending on the temperature in the temperature range of 20-200°C with simultaneous protection of personnel and the environment from effects of tested toxic materials.
