SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of protecting banking transactions and can be used, among other things, for contactless payments through automated banking services, "linking" a bank card to a mobile phone number or mobile application. The method for protecting transactions through banking terminals includes determining the location of the client and transferring this data to a remote server, and the transaction is carried out subject to confirmation of the location of the client requesting this transaction in the immediate vicinity of the ATM. It is proposed to receive this confirmation by blocking the mobile connection near the ATM, sending a control signal to a mobile phone or other gadget of the client to which the bank card is linked, and based on the results of the delivery of the control signal.
EFFECT: increase in security of the client's financial resources when accessing them through an ATM by conducting a transaction only after the client confirms, firstly, that he is in the immediate vicinity of the ATM reader.
