FIELD: biotechnology; dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for restoring or inhibiting dental erosion, promoting dental remineralization and/or enhancing anti-carious effects of fluoride includes applying to a tooth an oral care composition containing hydrophobin-like protein (hereinafter – HLP), having a polypeptide sequence selected from SEQ ID NO: 20 or SEQ ID NO: 22, and an orally acceptable carrier. HLP is present in the composition in the amount from 0.01 to 3 wt. % of the total weight of the composition. The oral care composition contains HLP having a polypeptide sequence selected from SEQ ID NO: 20 or SEQ ID NO: 22, if necessary, the effective amount of fluoride and an orally acceptable carrier. HLP is present in the composition in the amount from 0.01 to 3 wt. % of the total weight of the composition.
EFFECT: group of inventions is effective for restoring or mitigating effects of dental erosion, promoting dental remineralization and enhancing anti-carious effects of fluoride.
