FIELD: fire-fighting.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for removing an ignited fuel tank of a car with external placement of fuel tanks in the event of ignition of the energy carrier and to an apparatus for implementation thereof. The method is implemented by discarding the burning fuel tank using an apparatus containing a wind tunnel with a box-like section, provided with an ejecting mechanism installed at the top. The tunnel is placed along the car and attached to the frame from the bottom, closed with a cover with a lock in the front. The ejecting mechanism comprises two vertical shafts. Each shaft is equipped with a drum, a ratchet mechanism and a gear wheel. The gear wheels are engaged with a gear rack oriented across the longitudinal axis of the car, the ends whereof abut against the fuel tanks through pushers. Pullout cables are wound on the drums, the free ends whereof are extended along the wind tunnel and connected with the pullout drive through the locking brace of the distribution locking mechanism. The pullout drive constitutes a pullout and a main parachutes interconnected by lanyards. The canopy of the pullout parachute is put on the back end of the wind tunnel. Prior to discarding, the driver remotely switches the power system to the fuel tank to be discarded. Simultaneously, the tank is disengaged and the distribution locking mechanism connects the lanyard of the pullout drive with the left or right pullout cable. The starting switch of the electric drive is used to disengage and open the cover of the wind tunnel. The air flow passes through the tunnel and tears the pullout parachute from the end thereof due to the environmental pressure, wherein said parachute pulls out and opens the main parachute. Due to the resistance of the air environment, the force on the lanyard of the parachute is transmitted to the pullout cable through the locking brace. The cable is unwound from the drum, causes rotation of the shaft and translational movement of the gear rack. The pusher pushes the fuel tank from the mounting bracket. The fuel tubes and the electrical wire of the fuel level sensor are disconnected from the fuel tank.

EFFECT: fire safety of the car is ensured.
