FIELD: nuclear engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a nuclear reactor with water under pressure. The reactor contains fuel assemblies located in the core cells, absorbing rods of the control and protection system, rods with secondary neutron sources located near the ionization chambers in those cells of the reactor core in which there are no absorbing rods, and fixed on the traverse. Each rod with a secondary neutron source is sealed with a tip and a suspension and is made in the form of a hollow tube filled with helium under pressure, in which a sealed capsule filled with helium under pressure is placed. The capsule contains tablets from a mixture of beryllium and antimony isotopes, fixed from axial movement by a retainer located in a free volume inside the capsule. Centering of the capsule in the rod is carried out by means of a spacing element.
EFFECT: increased safety and acceleration of the restart of a nuclear reactor with pressurized water.
