FIELD: pipeline transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipeline gas transport and can be used to reduce the losses in the transported gas during the emptying of a section of a gas pipeline prior to starting the repair and restoration works on several inter-valve sections of gas pipelines. The method according to the first variant includes disconnecting the section subject to emptying from the main gas pipeline by means of shut-off apparatuses, emptying the section from the gas contained therein, is achieved by the fact that prior to emptying the section from the gas, the gas is passed into an adjacent emptied, previously repaired section of the gas pipeline by means of the standard equipment. The method according to the second option includes disconnecting the section subject to emptying from the main gas pipeline by means of shut-off apparatuses, emptying the section from the gas contained therein, is achieved by the fact that prior to emptying the section from the gas, the gas is passed into a non-adjacent emptied, previously repaired section of the gas pipeline through sections of the gas pipeline not subject to repairing, by means of standard equipment.

EFFECT: proposed methods for emptying a section of a gas pipeline are aimed at reducing the losses in the transported gas during the emptying of the section of the gas pipeline prior to starting the repair and restoration works.
