FIELD: transportation; gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipeline transport of gas and is intended for emptying sections of gas lines from gas contained therein before carrying out repair and restoration works and frames. Solution of the set task consists in the fact that in the method of emptying sections of gas pipelines, in which gas is pumped from the emptied sections into containers, according to the proposed invention, initially before the emptied section into the medium of the transported gas, shells with sealing pistons, with self-contained propulsor, after passage of shells of the first along the gate valve, the emptying section is closed on both sides and gas is pumped out of it into the tank by means of the gas transfer device placed at the second closed gate, by switching on the self-contained propulsor of shells with sealing pistons, with which gas is squeezed towards the second gate valve.

EFFECT: technical solution is aimed at development of efficient method of emptying transported gas from section of main gas line.
