FIELD: separating.
SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to the field of ecology and can be used for localising, inhibiting spreading of hydrocarbon pollution, as well as for removing hydrocarbon pollution from the water surface. In the method for eliminating hydrocarbon pollution of the aquatic environment, a spot of hydrocarbon pollution is burned using pulsed laser emission. In the first variant of the invention, upon the end of burning, the remaining spot of hydrocarbon pollution is localised by means of application of a surface-active agent thereon, containing: an oxyethylated cationic surface-active agent (surfactant) and a mixture of organic solvents. In the second variant of the invention, upon the end of burning, the remaining spot of hydrocarbon pollution is treated by means of application of water-repellent peat thereon. The localised spot of hydrocarbon pollution is then burned completely by moving a beam of continuous laser emission over the surface thereof.
EFFECT: increase in the promptness of actions in elimination of hydrocarbon spills, increase in the efficiency of removing hydrocarbons from the surface of the aquatic environment, reduction in the negative environmental impact, facilitation of pollution elimination.
