FIELD: locking mechanisms.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronically locked differentials. The differential includes a case, the first and the second side gears, a lock activation unit and a lock detection mechanism. A locking actuator selectively moves between the locked state, in which side gears are fixed for parallel rotation, and the non-locked state, in which side gears are rotated relatively to each other. The lock detection mechanism determines, whether the locking actuator is in the locked or non-locked state.
EFFECT: increase in the reliability of the device is achieved.
