FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measuring technology. A pipeline diagnostics system (200) is claimed, which includes a sensor capsule (206), a measuring circuit (228) and a controller (222). The sensor capsule (206) is designed to be connected to the outer surface of the pipeline (100) and had at least one temperature-sensitive element located in it. The measuring circuit (223) is connected to the sensor capsule (206) and is designed to measure the electrical characteristics of at least one temperature-sensitive element and provide a measurement reading. The controller (222) is connected to the measuring circuit (223) and is designed to obtain a reference measurement of the transmitter (502) and use the heat transfer calculation (506) with the reference measurement of the transmitter and the specified reading to generate an estimated temperature of the process medium. The controller (222) is additionally designed with the possibility of obtaining a temperature reading of the process medium and providing a diagnostic reading of the pipeline (512) based on a comparison of the estimated temperature of the process medium and the obtained temperature reading of the process medium.
EFFECT: creation of a pipeline diagnostics system that can function in all environments, regardless of acoustics or vibration, when the process system is in operation, and which does not generate any potential leakage points.
