SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of ion mobility spectrometry. A steam generator for a detection device contains: a steam source connected by means of a flow channel and designed to supply steam through a blocking device to an outlet for supplying steam to the detection device, wherein the blocking device contains the first vapor-permeable channel made with the possibility of preventing the diffusion of steam from the source to the outlet and with the possibility of forced movement of steam from the source to the outlet, and a receiver separated from the outlet by the first vapor-permeable channel, wherein the receiver contains material made with the possibility of absorbing steam, and is made with the possibility of redirecting the diffusion of steam from the outlet, wherein the first vapor-permeable channel and the receiver are arranged in such a way that, as a result of applying a pressure difference between the outlet and the steam source, the resistance to the forced passage of the steam flow through the first vapor-permeable channel to the outlet becomes less than the resistance to the forced passage of the steam flow into the receiver.
EFFECT: ensuring fast switching on and off, preventing leakage in the off state.
