SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for the formation of synthesis gas. The method for the formation of synthesis gas, containing mainly carbon monoxide and hydrogen and not containing acid gases and obtained from hydrocarbon fuel, air and steam, is proposed, in which, by means of low-temperature fractionation, air is separated into an oxygen flow, an exhaust gas flow and a nitrogen flow, while the exhaust gas flow and the nitrogen flow have ambient temperature, and the nitrogen flow has increased pressure, wherein hydrocarbon fuel is mixed with the oxygen flow and the flow with increased temperature and increased pressure and converted into synthesis gas, and acidic gas is then separated from it by low-temperature absorption in an absorption column, while an absorbent is cooled by means of a compression refrigeration unit, characterized in that the nitrogen stream formed by low-temperature fractionation of air is passed through an expansion turbine and simultaneously cooled in it, and then used to cool the absorbent or a cooler circulating in a cooler circuit of the compression refrigeration unit.

EFFECT: reduction in electricity consumption, when setting low operating temperatures.
