FIELD: telemetry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of telemetry during drilling operations in a well. During transmission, an event is detected that makes it desirable to change a transmitted data stream. A borehole processor processes the detected event in combination with a predefined event database and measurement data in the well, using a frame construction algorithm to calculate a digital data stream. Synchronization markers are added to the data stream to obtain a synchronized data stream, in which synchronization markers identify the detected event. The synchronized data stream is transmitted to a location on the surface using a borehole telemetry tool and received at a location on the surface to receive a decoded data stream. A ground processor processes synchronization markers to identify the detected event, and additionally processes the detected event in combination with the predefined event database and the decoded data stream, using the frame construction algorithm to obtain borehole measurements.

EFFECT: ensuring more reliable transmission of borehole data to the surface.
