SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical technology, namely to a material for an intraocular lens. The material for the intraocular lens is obtained by polymerization of a monomer composition and contains a base monomer, a hydrophilic monomer, which is an alkyl methacrylate containing a hydroxyl group containing an alkyl group containing from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, and a cross-linked monomer, wherein the base monomer contains an acrylate monomer containing an aromatic ring and an alkoxyalkyl methacrylate monomer containing an alkoxyalkyl group containing four or less carbon atoms.

EFFECT: material for the intraocular lens provides flexibility suitable for folding and improved resistance to hydrolysis.
