HYDROPHILIC MATERIALS WITH HIGH REFRACTIVE INDEX Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61F2/00 C08F220/30 A61L27/16

Abstract RU 2757857 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a hydrophilic intraocular lens, a composition for use in hydrophilic intraocular lenses and a method for obtaining a composition. The hydrophilic intraocular lens contains copolymer containing: the first monomeric sub-link containing a polymerized methacrylate group and C2-C6 aliphatic carbon fragment containing at least two hydroxyl substituents; the second monomeric sub-link different from the first monomeric sub-link and containing a polymerized methacrylate group, at least one side group containing (i) an aryloxy fragment containing at least one halogen, and (ii) C3 aliphatic carbon fragment binding the aryloxy fragment to the polymerized methacrylate group, where the specified aliphatic carbon fragment contains at least one hydroxyl substituent; and the third monomeric sub-link different from the first and second monomeric sub-links and containing a polymerized methacrylate group and at least one 2-ethoxyethoxyethyl side group. The composition for use in hydrophilic intraocular lenses, in addition to the specified monomorphic links, may optionally contain the fourth monomeric sub-link different from the first, second and third monomeric sub-links, containing a polymerized methacrylate group and at least one alkoxyalkyl side group. This method includes the preparation of a mixture of comonomers and its polymerization by adding CGI 819 photo initiator.

EFFECT: development of improved intraocular lens materials, including hydrophilic materials with higher refractive indices, ensuring the absence of stickiness after the introduction of intraocular lenses and providing difficult-to-achieve combinations of properties, such as the possibility of introduction through a small incision while maintaining good mechanical properties, contributing to improved surgical results.
