FIELD: composite materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of composite materials and, in particular, to workpieces for a gap filler. Systems and methods for giving composite parts a longitudinal curvature are disclosed. One embodiment is a method that includes the production of a workpiece for a curved pultrusion gap filler by means of continuous: heating fiber-reinforced material to a sticking temperature for constituent material inside fiber-reinforced material, and feeding fiber-reinforced material through a molding head that has a curvature, along which fiber-reinforced material is moved, when it is heated to the sticking temperature, while the molding head performs the molding of fiber-reinforced material into the workpiece for the gap filler. The production of a curved pultrusion workpiece also includes changing path lengths of fibers inside the workpiece, when the workpiece passes through the molding head, and pulling the workpiece out of the molding head.
EFFECT: invention provides the production of workpieces for gap fillers that increase the strength of joints in composite materials that have the necessary strength and high accuracy with increased reproducibility.
