SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aqueous coating composition comprising a dispersed acrylate binder polymer, an alkali-soluble acrylic polymer with a weight average molecular weight of at most 200,000 g/mol and an acid number in range of 20 to 150 mg KOH/g of the polymer and a dispersed oxidative drying resin, where the weight content of the oxidative drying resin is lower than the weight of the alkali-soluble acrylic polymer. Weight content of the acrylate binder polymer is higher than the weight ratio of the alkali-soluble acrylic polymer, and the content of the solid substances of the coating composition ranges from 28 to 55 wt. %, and content of inorganic solid particles is in range from 8 to 40 wt. % based on total weight of coating composition.

EFFECT: technical result is providing an aqueous coating composition which, with such a moderate content of solid substances, that is, with content and ratio for the acrylate binder polymer, alkali-soluble acrylic polymer and oxidative drying resin, has very good properties of application, in particular "open time", that is time during which the paint remains wet or "open" enough to enable brushing and recovery.
