FIELD: aviation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the manufacture of composite materials with a ceramic matrix that can be used as parts of hot parts of aviation gas turbine engines. A method for manufacturing a reinforced fiber billet contains following stages: shaping a fiber structure in a heated metal mold, while the structure is pre-impregnated with unstable or volatile material, or shaping a fiber structure in a metal mold and injecting volatile material into a formed fiber structure located in the metal mold; cooling the mold; extracting frozen fiber billet from the mold; applying coating from a shliker containing powder of ceramic or carbon particles to the fiber billet; heat processing of the coated fiber billet to obtain a porous shell around the fiber billet by curing the shliker and to remove unstable or volatile material present in the fiber billet, and subsequent chemical infiltrating the fiber billet from a gas phase. Volatile material is wax or volatile resin. To manufacture a part from such a billet, the shliker is injected into the fiber billet and impregnated with molten silicon to form a ceramic matrix.

EFFECT: optimization of the control of the size and shape of the fiber billet at the stage of its formation, when using a metal molding tool.
