SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device (1) for applying a coating on at least one thread (2) by vapour deposition, a coating method and a method of making a part from composite material. Device comprises treatment chamber (4) with at least first treatment zone (4a) and second processing zone (4b), wherein at least one thread (2) is to be coated by vapour deposition. First and second zones are separated by wall (5). First zone surrounds second zone or is located above second zone. Transportation system (6) is configured to move said at least one thread (2) through first (4a) and second (4b) zones. First discharge device is configured to inject the first gas treatment phase into first zone (4a). First removal device is configured to remove residual first gas phase (11d) from first region (4a). Second discharge device is configured to discharge second treatment gas phase to second zone (4b). Second removal device is configured to remove residual second gas phase (12d) from second zone (4b).

EFFECT: disclosed is a device for applying coating on one or more threads by vapour deposition.
