SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst for producing methylglycolate, containing the following components in mass percentages: silicon dioxide 65 to 90; silver 5 to 20; nickel 0.1 to 5; lanthanum 0.01 to 5; metal element M 0.01 to 5, wherein the metal element M is selected from one of titanium, cerium, cobalt or zirconium, and the elements are present as oxygen-bound. The invention also relates to a method for producing a catalyst and an application of the catalyst for producing methylglycolate.
EFFECT: production of methylglycolate with high activity, high selectivity, and easy production of a catalyst and low cost.
