FIELD: cleaning.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of environmental protection and can be used for restoration of a polluted snow surface by collecting spilled petroleum products at sub-zero temperatures. The substance of the invention: in the immediate vicinity of the site of the petroleum product spill 1, a trench 2 is developed with sufficient depth and area, with a possibility of placing the entire volume of the snow cover and soil polluted with petroleum products therein, embankment 3 is formed along the edges of the trench 2 with the soil obtained in the development of the trench 2, with the exception of the side directly adjacent to the site of the petroleum product spill 1, a heat insulation coating 4 is laid at the bottom of the trench 2, wherein a heating element 5 located evenly in a horizontal plane is mounted on top of said coating, the snow cover and the surface of the soil impregnated with petroleum products are then moved into the trench 2, followed by finishing the embankment 3 of the perimeter of the trench 2, power is supplied to the heating elements 5, wherein the heat flow from said elements melts the snow and the formed ice moved into the trench, after which the petroleum product 7 raised to the surface of water is collected to use as intended or discharge. A heating cable powered from a stationary or mobile power source, used to melt the polluted snow and ice moved into the trench, or a tubular coil pipe heat exchanger, whereto a low-freezing liquid heated to 100°C or superheated steam are supplied and circulated until complete melting of the polluted snow and ice moved into the trench, is used as a heating element 5.

EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of collecting petroleum products from a snow surface at sub-zero temperatures.
