METHOD FOR THE COMPLEX TREATMENT OF NYSTAGMUS Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61F9/07 A61K39/08 A61P27/08

Abstract RU 2761267 C1

FIELD: ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology and can be used for the complex treatment of nystagmus. To do this, chemodenervation of extraocular muscles is carried out using the preparation Botulinum Toxin A in an amount of 2 to 4 U, depending on the amplitude of nystagmus and injected into the muscles of the corresponding direction of movement. After 18-20 days, pleoptic treatment is carried out by forming and increasing the stability of central visual fixation and photosensitivity of the macular region of the retina using light stimulation of the macular region of the retina based on the principle of biofeedback. In this case, the patient's sound motivation to fix his gaze within the selected locus is carried out for 12-15 minutes, 5 times a week, for a total of 15 sessions. Pleoptic treatment is performed in both eyes and is repeated every 3 months.

EFFECT: invention provides a decrease in the amplitude of nystagmus, centralization of visual fixation, an increase in the photosensitivity of the macular region and, as a consequence, an increase in visual acuity.
