FIELD: oil industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for the removal of contaminants during demineralization of hydrocarbon fluid, which provides: (a) mixing of hydrocarbon fluid and washing water, wherein hydrocarbon fluid contains the main contaminant selected from ammonia, organic amine, salt and their combinations, test acid selected from hydrochloric acid, acetic acid, glycolic acid, citric acid, malic acid, maleic acid, hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide and their mixtures, or both; (b) separation of washed hydrocarbon fluid by forming a non-aqueous phase containing washed hydrocarbon fluid and an aqueous phase; (c) removal of the aqueous phase and (d) determination of a correlation ratio - in a system, which consists of the main contaminant, the non-aqueous phase containing hydrocarbon fluid, and the aqueous phase - between the level of release of the main contaminant into the aqueous phase and a pH value of the aqueous phase, and determination of a correlation ratio - in a system, which consists of test acid, the non-aqueous phase containing hydrocarbon fluid, and the aqueous phase - between the level of release of test acid into the aqueous phase and a pH value of the aqueous phase; wherein release levels of the main contaminant and test acid, as well as the pH of the aqueous phase, are obtained under conditions representing conditions used in the release process, where the main contaminant is removed from hydrocarbon fluid. The invention also concerns a method for selecting an acidic medium for use in the process of separating hydrocarbon fluid, a method for regulating the process of separating hydrocarbon fluid, a method for assessing the risk of corrosion downstream relatively to the process of separating hydrocarbon fluid.
EFFECT: effective removal of contaminants from crude oil into the aqueous phase and at the same time reducing acidification to a minimum.
