SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biology, experimental medicine and hygiene. The laboratory animal is fixed inside an opaque box. The box itself is fixed on a platform with the ability to rotate and conduct a vestibular rotational test. To record indicators of visual nystagmus in a lightproof box, a video camera equipped with its own light source is used. The fixation of the laboratory animal's gaze on the camera lens is carried out using a point pulse-periodic source of incoherent optical radiation, for which the video camera and a point pulse-periodic source of incoherent optical radiation are placed directly in front of the animal's organ of vision. In this case, the pulse repetition rate is selected in the range of 5-9 Hz, and the carrier radiation wavelength is set to the corresponding green color.
EFFECT: method allows to register direct indicators of visual nystagmus of laboratory animals.
